…….to put up 100k reward money for those who can identify the perpetrators.

Governor Roel Ragay Degamo joins in the numerous calls to put a face to the suspect or suspects behind the brutal killing of lawyer Archer Baldwin Martinez in broad daylight inside his law office last week.

Gov. Degamo said the Provincial Government will put up 100 thousand pesos as its counterpart to the concerted efforts of the various organizations and institutions which earlier put up funds as reward money for those who can help the authorities identify the perpetrators.

Gov. Degamo condemned in strongest term the killing of Atty. Martinez who was laid to rest over the weekend at the Dumaguete Memorial Park.

“No amount of anger that can justify the killing of one person,” the governor said.

He admitted this is quite alarming considering that the late Atty. Martinez, who was a Rotarian and the incumbent Vice President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines up to the time of his demise, was known to have aggrieved no one.

The governor hopes that with the various sectors joining hands it will be easier and faster to finally unmask the identities of the suspect or suspects including the believed masterminds of the killing.

He said that on top of the 100 thousand pesos reward money, he had also called the attention of the different law enforcement agencies such as the PNP and the NBI to take a closer look at this particular incident considering the magnitude of its implications in the society.

“This is totally against the direction set by my administration which is to have a society with a healthy lifestyle, a peaceful environment and a happy people,” Gov Degamo added.

He said no one has the absolute right to take away the life of anyone regardless of his or her status in the society.
