Gov. Roel Degamo,  of the PDP-Laban has hinted his desire to be with a political party that can provide Negrenses with projects and development to uplift their living condition.

At  the recent courtesy call of Maj. Gen. Nicanor Vivar, newly-assumed commander of the Central Command, Degamo,  told him that only the present administration can grant his request for funds from  the construction of a road network that will  traverse the Tamlang Valley, that  has been  declared a peace zone.

He said the provincial engineers have  done  the project proposal for a P200 million   road network,  that will crisscross barangays Nagbagang to Kakha, Avocado in Sta. Catalina, going to Siaton, Dobdob in Valencia, Enrique Villanueva and Calinawan in Sibulan, to Pamplona.

Box culverts will be constructed in the creeks that will be traversed by the road network, he said.

Degamo also said he expects this  to spur development in the area and  around 17,000 hectares of the Tamlang Valley, where 10,000 hectares  have been  leased by former Rep. Herminio “Meniong” Teves for the failed jathropa project.

Vivar expressed full support to the governor’s project proposal, and assured him of his endorsement  to  the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Agriculture, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

He said  that where roads are well-constructed, the insurgency problem is being addressed since farmers  can  bring their produce to the lowlands, the government can get closer to the people, and the Bayanihan activities of the Army can be sustained.*JG
